What we ask about

The eight conversations

Three of these — money, in-laws and fertility — are where imported assessments are thinnest and where African marriages are put under the most strain.

How we score

Three numbers for every conversation

Most assessments score one thing: whether you agree. That misses the most common failure in marriage preparation, which is a couple who agree on paper about something they have never once discussed.

A

Alignment

How closely your two sets of answers match.

D

Disclosure

Whether you have actually had the conversation, cross-checked against what each of you believes the other knows.

H

Heat

How emotionally charged the subject runs for either of you.

Open means high alignment and high disclosure: you agree, on purpose. Half-open means a live difference, or an assumption you have mistaken for an agreement. Closed means low disclosure or high heat. That is where your Guide starts.

What you get

The report, and what happens next

Your Conversation Map

One page, eight doors, colour-coded. This is the page couples photograph and keep.

Start here

Your three most urgent doors, ranked, with the reason each one is ahead of the others.

Eight sections

For each conversation: what you agree on, where you differ, the one fact your partner may not know, and three questions to ask each other this week.

Ninety days

A dated plan. One conversation a week, in an order that does not start with the hardest.

The Covenant Track

For couples who want it: Scripture, a written prayer, and the theology of covenant for the doors you are opening. Optional, and standard in most churches.

Yours to keep — and to hand over

The report belongs to you two alone; we keep no copy. Debrief it yourselves with the built-in four-week plan, or hand it to a Guide and walk through it together.

Beyond the assessment

The book, the Course, and the classes

Start free with the assessment. Then choose how deep to go.

The book

Let’s Talk About Marriage

One chapter per conversation. Read it as a couple alongside the assessment — each chapter ends with the same three questions your report gives you.

About the book

The Premarital Course

The workbook for the eight conversations

Eight conversations every couple must have before they say “I do” — a couple’s journal with exercises, scripts and written commitments for every door. Work through it with your Guide, in a church class, or on your own.

About the Course

Live online classes

Sessions with real couples

Eight weeks, live, in a small cohort of couples — the assessment, the Course and a session on every conversation, led by certified Guides. Sign up as a couple; places are limited by design.

Questions

Common questions

How soon before the wedding should we do this?
Three to six months. Early enough that a closed door can still change something, and late enough that you are both serious. Couples who come three weeks before the wedding still benefit, but they have fewer options.
What if the report shows a serious problem?
Then it has done its job, and it is far better to know now. The report does not report you to anyone — it tells you, plainly, what needs to be said and gives you the words to begin. Some things are best told with a trusted pastor or Guide sitting beside you, and the report says so when that is wise. But the telling is yours. That is the whole point of the name on the front of this website.
Can we do it online?
Yes. The assessment is taken on your phones wherever you are, and Guides run debriefs over video. Many diaspora couples do the whole thing remotely with a Guide in their home country.
Do we both have to answer honestly?
The report is only as good as the answers. That is why you answer separately, and why we tell you plainly that a flattering answer costs you the one thing you came for.
Is this the same as SYMBIS or Prepare/Enrich?
It is the same category and a different instrument. Those were built for the Western nuclear couple and are strong at what they do. Ours scores the family system, the obligation system and the covenant, because that is what decides a marriage here. If your church already uses one of those, the two can sit side by side.
