For pastors, counsellors, marriage committees and mentors
One certification covers all four assessments: the single man, the woman discerning, the engaged couple, and the marriage at thirty years. An afternoon of training, a manual, a listing, and a place in the directory.
What is included
Nine parts, written not padded. What each instrument measures, how to read a Map without turning it into a verdict, the six movements of a debrief, what to say when a couple goes quiet, and what never to say. Yours the day you certify, in English or French.
Four sessions for the Pre-Marriage Assessment, two for the Check-Up, written out line by line so a first debrief is not an improvisation.
Your name, your city, your languages and your denomination in the directory, so that a couple searching for somebody near them finds you. Referrals are the main reason most Guides certify.
You will never be shown a couple’s answers or their score. You see a Map when they hand it to you in the room, and not before.
Couples searching by city, language and denomination find you. Referrals are the main reason most Guides certify.
The discipleship layer: Scripture, prayer and the theology of covenant, mapped door by door for churches that want it.
Recognising coercive control, what to do when a report raises a flag, how to refer, and what never to say to a woman who has just told you the truth. This module is examined and cannot be skipped.
One certification, one family of instruments
Every assessment produces a Map, and the Maps fit together — taken alone before commitment, together before the wedding, and again across the years of a marriage.
| Assessment | Who takes it | The question it answers | You receive |
|---|---|---|---|
| Discernment Check For Him / For Her · free |
Someone getting to know a person, before anything is decided | “Am I seeing a pattern, or a possibility?” | Your Clarity Map — what I see beside what I hope, and a red-flag inventory |
| Readiness Profile For Him / For Her · free |
A single man or woman considering marriage | “Am I ready to be someone’s husband — or someone’s wife?” | Your Readiness Map — six areas marked ready, growing or not yet |
| The Let’s Talk Assessment Pre-Marriage |
A courting or engaged couple, with a Guide | “Which conversations have we truly had?” | Your Conversation Map — eight doors scored on alignment, disclosure and heat |
| Happily Ever After Check-Up For Couples |
A married couple, any year | “What has quietly closed since we married?” | Your Marriage Map — the same eight doors, tracked over time |
Who this is for
Across Africa, the people who actually counsel couples are pastors, church mothers, marriage committees and elders. They carry enormous volume, deep trust and almost no tools. This certification is built for them, not around them.
It is also right for licensed counsellors and therapists who want an instrument written for the families their clients actually live in. If you already use SYMBOL-based or Western inventories, this sits alongside them rather than replacing them.
What we ask of you: that you complete the safeguarding module, that you never debrief a couple you are personally entangled with, and that you renew annually so your material stays current.

Certification
Priced so that a pastor in Bamenda can afford it without a grant.
